Douglas Carvalho, 30 years old, born in Itumbiara/GO,
he is veteran in the championship Jet Waves and will participate
in the 9th edition that happens on 7 to September 9, 2007 in
Itajaí/SC. Check the interview!
He began adolescent yet, by chance he entered
in the sport and never again stopped. What began with as a game
in the rivers of Itumbiara, in Goiás, became a "addiction"
and never stopped. He intends to continue participating for
several years, always in contact with the friends and the nature.
Douglas says that the jet-ski tests are certainly
the thing that more he likes to do; therefore he started in
competitions 16 years ago representing Brazil for the world
with a lot of pride and dedication.
Participant of the category For Stand Up, he
already got 4th place, "the level of the World Championship
of Freeride is louder of the sport in the world, certainly is
where the best pilots of the world are. I wait that this year
has good waves so that everybody can show everything that know
to do", affirms.
Since 1991 he runs in the category "freestyle",
already in Jet Waves participates from the first stage that
happened years ago. His largest difficulty is training, therefore
as he lives away from the sea, he has to train in lakes, and
in the waves only in the previous day of the competition.
He practice more in lakes and rivers, "this
year I made a preparation in the middle of Amazônia, in
the city of Santarém. In spite of there not being waves,
I trained everyday to acquire better form physic", he comments.
He participated of several championships of the world, state,
national, world American north, of freestyle race and Free Ride.
His title list is enormous, like Free Style
Profissional was five times Brazilian Champion, five times Champion
From São Paulo, 2nd place on World Champion, Champion
of the 1st Stage of the American Championship in Florida/EUA,
Champion of the Cup of Brazil. In the category race, it was
Champion Brazilian 550 limited and Champion of the Cup of Brazil
550 limited twice. He was Champion From São Paulo of
Sport Stock and it removed 4th place once in Free you also Laugh
For Stand and three times 6th place in the For Stand.
He always had several people that motivated.
"My family certainly comes in first place", affirms.
Besides them, he already had several sponsors, the help of the
state of Goiás and today has sponsors that give the largest
force and facilitates he to be competing with a very good equipment.
About Jet Waves he comments, " I know that
is complicated to win, because there is several pilots that
are much more prepared and has more time than me, then, my expectation
is to be among the four finalists".
Douglas concludes thanking to the sponsors Achocolatado
Doçura, Mormaii, Porto Fino (products of milk), Jettraction
and Vitória (pasta) and the forces that INEMA gives to
the sport.
